Got Dud?

Got Dud?

The answer to that question is the goal of this blog.

Dud's Erotica is devoted to the presentation, promotion and preservation of the original erotic art of the late Dudley "Dud" Morton Gifford.

Dud was born on Oct.30, 1914.  He graduated from Colgate University in 1938 with a degree in Art & Art History.

In 1941 he was drafted into the Army.  He created art for the duration of the War while stationed here in the U.S.  He was honorably discharged in 1946.

He attended Alfred University from 1946-1948 as a graduate student in the College of Ceramics.

He left school to marry his first wife.  Together they ran a pottery from his parent's house.  It didn't work out, they got divorced.  She remarried her divorce attorney.

Sometime around 1964 Dud started drawing naughty cartoons and delivering them to one "J.D." He usually smuggled them into "J.D's" house disguised in the New York Times Sunday edition.

Those cartoons were the beginning of Dud's more than 30 year career as an erotic artist.

In the late 60's Dud was hired by a company called "the Communicators" as a filmstrip animator.  At that time he started creating more than just cartoons.

This is when he started his erotic art in earnest.   But that is a story for another day.
