D.H. Lawrence's Birthday

D.H.Lawrence

Today, September 11, is D.H. Lawrence’s birthday. Lawrence was born in England in 1885. He is best known as the author of, “Lady Chatterley’s Lover” written and privately published in 1928. The publication of the book caused a scandal due to its explicit sex scenes and “obscene” language. It was banned from publication again until 1960.

I have never read the book and only seen one of the soft core versions of the movie (and since it was soft corn, as I like to refer to them, I fast forwarded through most of it).

D.H. gets a mention because the Dud’s Erotica definition, “art or literature intended to arouse sexual desire” makes “Lady Chatterley’s Lover” erotic art.

One of the terms D.H. used in, “Lady Chatterley’s Lover” was the British English euphemism for the penis, “John Thomas” although not considered “obscene” it does give me the opportunity to feature one of Dud’s prick pictures.

I have a list of other sex related dates to feature throughout the year.
