Today is September 23, the birthday of Anne Desclos.  Declos was born in France in 1907.

She worked as a journalist and then for a publishing house.

Her lover, who she worked for at the publishing house, remarked that no woman was capable of writing an erotic novel.

To prove him wrong Delcos wrote a graphic sadomasochistic novel under the pseudonym of Pauline Réage.

“Histoire d'O” or in English, “Story of O” was published in 1954 and not only proved her lover wrong but was a huge commercial success and still in print today.

Delcos’ authorship of the novel remained unknown until 1994 when she admitted to writing the book in a magazine interview.

While I was in high school I discovered Dud’s copy of, “Story of O”. After I read it I let my girlfriend borrow it so she could read it as well.  Years later I married her and now she is the Web Mistress for Dud’s erotica.

Dud never drew any sadomasochistic, or BDSM as it is referred to today, images that I have seen.

Today’s picture is a stylized nude who I felt has a “French” feel to her, whatever that means.
