Rated X

This cartoon dates from the late 1960’s, early 1970’s. At that time mainstream movies such as Midnight Cowboy, The Exorcist, or A Clockwork Orange, were rated X (no one under age 17 admitted) for content unsuitable for minors such as extreme violence or explicit sex.  Later, the X rating was taken over by the adult film industry to indicate the sexual nature of pornographic films.  In 1990 the X rating was replaced by NC-17 for non pornographic mainstream movies.

If this illustration had been drawn recently, after asking, “Where are your parents?” The answer would be, “They went to the movies but they wouldn’t take me because it’s rated NC-17.”

Please note that all of the subjects portrayed in Dud’s Erotica are over the age of 18, especially if being viewed in Australia.  Why Australia you ask? An Australian Supreme Court Judge has ruled that a cartoon depicting Bart, Lisa, Maggie and Marge Simpson having sex is child pornography.  Here is a link to the news story from World News Australia and the text of the ruling from the New South Wales (Australia) Supreme Court.

So once again please remember that everyone drawn from the imagination of Dud is over the age of 18, or they won’t be posted.
