New Links and Putti and Frottage

Dud’s erotica is proud to announce that we have two new
web sites linking to us; The British Museum of Erotic Art and Jade magazine.
The British Museum of Erotic
Art was founded in mid 2006 as a web-based museum and art gallery dedicated to
erotic art.
The Museum aims to show an
exciting blend of contemporary, vintage and classic works with a strong
emphasis on contemporary art.
The Museum hosts regular
online exhibitions featuring work by some of the world's best erotic artists
and emerging talent.
JADE was launched in 2001 has established itself as the magazine of choice for intelligent and mature readers, both men and women, seeking genuine erotic content rather than porn and wall to wall sex adverts.
JADE is published monthly
and is ONLY available by subscription as a high resolution full colour PDF
download, accessed by unique password. It is not a ‘mass-market’ publication
and is not available in the shops or from third parties.
Links to their home pages
can be found on the Dud’s Erotica Web site, “Links” page.
A copy of Jade magazine’s
article on Dud can be found through our, “Press” page.
The British Museum’s page
features six of Dud’s works including the, “Putti” and a piece called,
“Frottage.” Both are shown at the top of this page.
Putti (pū'-tē)
According
to The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition,
a
putto (pū'tō) is, “A
representation of a small child, often naked and having wings, used especially
in the art of the European Renaissance.”
On
the right of the blog masthead and on the home page of the web site are the,
“putti.”
The
original hangs in my kitchen. They are not hidden away. Almost no one notices what they are
doing. A certain E. has commented, “Oh,
what cute cherubs.” E. never commented on what they are doing, I don’t think E.
ever noticed.
They
aren’t cherubs. Cherubs ain’t got no sex organs. They are putti.
Putti
is the plural of putto, one putto, two putti.
Neither
of these are a small child but they are naked and have wings.
Frottage
(frô-täzh')
From
the Old French froter, to rub.
The act of achieving sexual gratification
(including ejaculation) by rubbing one's body against another person. A person who practices frotteurism is known
as a frotteur. Imitating intercourse
while clothed is referred to as “dry humping.”
An
explanation of frottage appears in Kraft-Ebing’s, Psychopathia
Sexualis and he provides examples of its manifestation in several of the
case studies included in the book. Kraft-Ebing’s, Psychopathia Sexualis is a
fascinating book , but that is for another day.
Interesting
enough the word frottage
is also used to refer to the art technique of taking a rubbing from an uneven
surface, like a grave stone rubbing.
Here is an example of a frottage done by Dud.
