Approach to the Geb & Nut Position

Illustrated above is, “Approach to the Geb and Nut Position.”  According to the sexual taxonomy of Dud’s Erotica the Geb and Nut is a woman superior position where she is bent over him supported by her hands and feet and he is supine (on his back facing up).  The approach label is applied when the illustration shows what happens prior to penetration and the position being described.  It is the approach to Geb and Nut because she is lowering herself on to his erection and guiding his penis with her left hand.  This illustration was originally done on tracing paper with felt tipped markers (hair), pen & ink (details) and Windsor ink (for the penis color).

Now, what is Geb and Nut?  They are deities from ancient Egyptian mythology.  What we refer to as Egyptian mythology was, in fact, an extremely complex religion of the ancient Egyptians.  With a civilization that lasted over 3000 years it is no surprise that depending on the source you look at; the names of their deities vary, the stories about the deities have differences and the deities themselves change.

Keeping that in mind here is my version of the ancient Egyptian creation story.

In the beginning, the sun-god Atum created himself from a primeval ocean called Nun.

Atum then created Tefnut, goddess of moisture by masturbating.  Atum then performed self fellatio and created Shu, god of air.  This is illustrated below from the Book of the Dead of Henuttawy (circa 1070 BC – 644 BC):

Shu and Tefnut became husband and wife and through an incestuous coupling created Geb, god of earth and Nut, goddess of the sky.  Geb and Nut then engaged in eternal sexual intercourse.  Nut arched her back over Geb, supported by her hands and feet in the four points of the compass, and their union created Osiris god of the underworld, Isis goddess of fertility, Seth god of chaos, and Nephthys goddess of the dead.

Shu finally separated Nut from Geb. By lifting his daughter over his head Shu created the space for the world between Nut and Geb. The air (Shu) now separated the heavens (or sky, Nut) from the earth (Geb). This is illustrated below from the Greenfield Papyrus (circa 940 BC):

So, after all of that, we learn who Geb and Nut were, a sex crazed brother and sister, born from an incestuous relation, who were the heaven and earth to the ancient Egyptians.

And the Geb and Nut Position?

She arches her back over him supported by her hands and feet in the four points of the compass.

Live Long and Prosper.
