Best Goddam Broom Blog Entry Ever!

I know, I know it’s only September, but Halloween is coming…

Sooner…

Than…

You…

Think!

(You have to read that like it’s the introduction to the old, “Lights Out!” radio program, if you are not familiar with the show check out the link below.)

The last time I wrote about Halloween was last October and that’s when I premiered the, “Best Goddam Broom I Ever Had!” cartoon from the J.D. collection.  Well, my Photoshop abilities have improved since then and I have remastered the original one more time.  I think the newest version is a vast improvement.

The original cartoon was drawn some time between 1963 and 1965.  It was drawn on a piece of shirt cardboard; you know the cardboard that goes on the inside of a new dress shirt to keep it flat. According to a conservator friend of mine that is just about the worst thing to draw on if you want the art to last. The cardboard was originally white, now you could describe it as tan with an assortment of brown age spots (that is the acid in the wood pulp slowly dissolving itself).  So after several hours of work removing as much of the aging background as possible I present to you the, “Best Goddam Broom I Ever Had!” volume 2.

In addition to a limited edition giclée there is a whole selection of Zazzle items as well.  Tee shirts to wear to your next erotic wiccan gathering, a tote bag to carry the ingredients for your love potions or aphrodisiacs for your lover and a mousepad to fly through the web like our wicked witch flying on her best goddam broom ever!

To be continued…

Live Long and Prosper.
